Blunt Findings

About

Why this exists

Every store owner has had the free audit. A friendly agency runs a scan, sends over a PDF full of red, and the last page is a proposal. The findings were never the point. The retainer was.

Blunt Findings sells the findings and nothing else. There is no retainer to sell, so there is no reason to soften a finding or inflate one. The report costs £99, says what is wrong, and stops.

Why AI shopping

Shoppers have started asking ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity what to buy. Those assistants do not look at a store the way a person does. They read the product feed, the structured data, robots.txt and the policy pages, and they can only recommend what they can read.

Most stores have never been checked against that. The fixes are usually small: a title that names the product type, a barcode field filled in, a crawler unblocked, a returns page a machine can read. The audit finds them and ranks them.

Who built it

Blunt Findings was built by Michael Veal, who has spent more than ten years running paid search and shopping for ecommerce brands, from independent stores to a global travel company spending over £6m a year. Most of that time was spent reading other people's audits and noticing that the useful ones were short, specific, and rude about the right things.

The audit encodes that judgement into a system that runs the same way every time. Michael designed the checks, set the scoring and signs off the method. The system does the reading, the scoring and the writing, and checks its own work before anything ships.

What blunt means here

What it is not

Blunt Findings is not an agency. It does not offer calls, implementation, bespoke analysis or ongoing management. If you want someone to make the changes, the report is written so that whoever works on your theme can make them from it.
