AI Shopping Readiness Audit

Check my store

The audit answers one question. When a shopper asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's shopping agent for what your store sells, how far does the assistant get? Can it find the products, read them correctly, confirm price and stock, trust the store, and reach it?

What is measured

SectionPointsWhat is read
Catalogue readability25Every product in your public listing. Do titles name the brand, the type and the attributes a shopper would ask for? Do descriptions carry a measurable specification? Are vendor, product type, images, alt text and variants filled in and consistent?
Structured data2515 sampled product pages. Is Product JSON-LD present, with price, currency, availability, brand, SKU, GTIN and ratings?
Agent access15robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt. Are GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended allowed on product pages? Are products in the sitemap?
Trust and policy15Shipping, returns, contact, about and privacy pages. Do they exist, are they linked, can a crawler read them, and do they state facts rather than bury them in prose?
Speed10Mobile performance score, Largest Contentful Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, from Google PageSpeed Insights
Visibility spot check10Eight buyer-style searches run on the day. Does the store appear, and who appears instead?

The total is 100. If a section cannot be measured, its points are excluded and the report says so. A store scored on 90 available points is told it was scored on 90 available points.

How it is scored

The scoring is mechanical. The same store, read on the same day, gets the same number. The score is not an opinion and it is not adjusted by hand.

The visibility spot check is the exception, and the report treats it as one. Eight searches on one day tell you something, not everything. It is weighted at 10 points of 100, dated, and described as a spot check every time it is mentioned.

What a finding looks like

Every finding names the evidence it came from. Three from the sample report:

High2 AI search or shopping crawlers are blocked from product pages.

OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search and shopping) and PerplexityBot. In robots.txt, allow these agents on /products/ and /collections/. Blocking a training crawler is a separate choice and can stay.

Medium9 pages of 15 have no GTIN in structured data.

/products/oiled-leather-belt-tan, /products/the-daily-tee, /products/weekender and six more. Add the barcode to each variant in Shopify admin and make sure the theme outputs it as gtin. A GTIN is how an agent matches your listing to the same product everywhere else.

MediumShipping policy is disallowed for crawlers in robots.txt.

Shopify hides /policies/ from every crawler by default. Publish the same text on a normal page and link it from the footer, or allow /policies/ in robots.txt.liquid.

Each fix says where in Shopify to make the change. The write-up draws its before-and-after examples from your own catalogue, so a thin description is set against one of your own detailed ones, not against a competitor.

What you receive

Delivery is within 24 hours of payment. Most reports arrive sooner.

Who it is for

Shopify stores with a public catalogue of five or more products.

Not yet: WooCommerce, which is next, and other platforms. If your store cannot be run, the free check says so before you reach checkout, and you are not charged.

What it is not

Before you pay

The free check runs the same reads the audit starts with. If your store is readable, a Buy button appears with your URL already attached. If it is not, the page tells you why and stops.
