BluntFindingsBot

This is the crawler behind bluntfindings.com. If you found this page in your server logs, this is what it was doing.

What it does

It reads the public pages of an online store to produce an AI Shopping Readiness Audit or a free readiness check. It only reads stores that someone has submitted to bluntfindings.com. It does not crawl the web looking for stores.

What it reads

The public product listing, a sample of product pages, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, and the shipping, returns, contact, about and privacy pages. Served HTML only. It does not run scripts, log in, submit forms, or read anything behind a password.

How it behaves

• Identifies itself as BluntFindingsBot/0.1 (+https://bluntfindings.com/bot)
• Two seconds between page reads
• Honours robots.txt rules for its user agent
• Reads a small number of pages per store, in one pass

Allowing it

Most stores need to do nothing. If your robots.txt or bot protection blocks unknown crawlers and you want an audit to run, allow the user agent BluntFindingsBot on /products/, /products.json, /collections/ and your policy pages.

Blocking it

Add this to robots.txt:

User-agent: BluntFindingsBot
Disallow: /

It stops. Any audit ordered for that store is refunded rather than run.
